Insurance Tip:

Don't be under-insured.

A critically injured person can accumulate $1 million in medical expenses.  It is important to keep coverage limits in mind.  The costs of a severe crash can quickly exceed limits.  If you are not covered, you will have to pay for costs out of your own pocket.

Buying Insurance Online

is Risky

Shopping for insurance online may be a great way to get information and rough quotes, but there are drawbacks.   Instead, contact one of our an agents who can discuss your needs and knows state requirements so you can make sure you are covered, ensure you receive compensation in an accident, and help you save money on your policy.

What does car insurance cover?

There are 3 primary types of insurance coverage:

  1. Liability Insurance: Covers the cost associated with injuries and property damage you are responsible for if you cause the accident.
  2. Collision: Covers the costs to repair or replace your damaged or destroyed vehicle after an accident.
  3. Comprehensive: Formally known as "other than collision," this portion of your policy covers damage to your vehicle from causes such as auto theft and weather damage.

Additional Coverage that May be Available

  1. Medical Payments: Covers the cost of injuries for you and the others in your vehicle after an accident, regardless of who was at fault.
  2. Personal Injury Protection (PIP): Similar to medical payments coverage, PIP coverage can pay your medical costs after an accident, regardless of fault.  But PIP offers expanded coverage that includes coverage for lost wages.
  3. Total Reimbursement: Pays a certain amount daily for a replacement vehicle if yours is in the shop for repairs.
  4. Towing and Roadside Service: Provides emergency roadside assistance and towing to help you get your vehicle back on the road or to a shop for repair.

What does RV insurance cover?

RV insurance (also known as motorhome insurance) covers the cost of repairing or replacing your vehicle after an accident. Liability coverage is required in most states and covers property damage, medical costs and legal fees if you cause an accident. Several states also require uninsured/underinsured motorists coverage. This coverage insures you in the event that you are hit by a driver who does not have insurance, or does not have enough to pay for your damages.

How do I know what policy is best for me?

Your motorhome insurance cost will depend on the type of coverage you buy and Florida requirements. There are other factors to consider as well, such as:

  • Where you travel: A full-timer will need a more in-depth coverage plan than a recreational motorist. It also matters how far you travel and what regions you will be in. Areas with more risk will need additional protections.
  • The type of RV you own: The type of motorhome you are driving will make a difference for your coverage. A truck camper or travel trailer does not have many amenities and is usually cheaper to repair or replace after an accident than a higher value Class A motorhome.
  • Your driving record: Your history as a driver is important. It tells an insurance company whether you are a risk-taker or more cautious. Drivers with a history of traffic tickets and accidents are often considered higher-risk, and will therefore typically pay higher premiums.

To find out what RV insurance is best for your vehicle and your needs, talk to one of our agents who will compare motorhome insurance quotes and work with you to find the coverage that best meets your needs.

When getting the right amount of coverage, consider these questions:

  • How is the company organized (from a legal perspective)?
  • What types of vehicles does your company use?
  • Who owns them?
  • Who drives them? You will need to provide driver’s license information for each driver.
  • How often do you or your employees drive these vehicles?
  • Do you transport people? Transport or deliver goods? Use the vehicles to provide services? What kind?

Cover your Company's Drivers and Vehicles

The risks you face as a business owner vary widely from liability concerns to workers compensation issues to the possibility that one of your workers could be responsible for an accident. If you have staff members who get behind the wheel, your commercial vehicle insurance will protect your business financially in the event of incident on the road.

Our agents can help you identify the right commercial vehicle policy for your needs.  With a wide range of carriers, we can help cover every aspect of your business insurance needs.

Who needs Commercial Vehicle Insurance?

  • Freight companies and other businesses that use commercial trucks
  • Independent contractors who drive during the course of doing business
  • Any business that makes deliveries or transports goods
  • Limo services, taxi services, bus companies and other transportation services

If you or your staff members use a vehicle for commercial purposes, you need a commercial auto policy, as your standard personal auto policy will typically not cover you for business use of that vehicle.

The risks associated with commercial use of a vehicle, whether it is personally owned or company owned, often call for higher policy limits and different policy provisions.

Let us help you find a flexible, tailored company car insurance policy that makes sure your policy adequately covers your real world use and risks.
